Targeted at 12th-grade finance students, Financial Management is an advanced, rigorous one-credit core course that introduces students to a wide range of managerial- and financial-accounting concepts and skills. It addresses financial concepts and skills identified in the National Standards for Finance at the career-sustaining, specialist, and manager curriculum-planning levels. Please note that this is not a typical high-school accounting course. Rather than focusing on bookkeeping and the actual recording of financial transactions, Financial Management emphasizes financial analysis that supports business decision-making. It develops understanding and skills in budgeting, development and interpretation of financial statements, working capital management, and more. A variety of projects, activities, assessments, and resource lists are provided.
