A one-credit/year-long course targeted at 11th-grade students who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs.
Introduces the role of entrepreneurship in a market economy; entrepreneurial discovery processes; ideation; and preliminary start-up venture planning. Familiarizes students with marketing’s pivotal role in the development and success of new business. Capstone activity involves the development of a detailed marketing plan to be included in a full business plan. (Remaining components of business plan to be developed in 12th-grade course.)
Incorporates activities and situations involving problem-solving, decision-making, reading, reflection, and contextual learning experiences.
Draws content from the Business Administration Core and the Marketing Core.
